Police have identified Jeffery Halstead as the man involved in last nights robbery.
An armed robbery suspect caught on surveillance video is on the loose after holding up a beer and tobacco shop in Donelson on Sunday night. According to Metro Police, a suspect armed with a shotgun entered the Donelson Pike Tobacco & Ale, 519 Donelson Pk., at 6pm on Sunday, demanding money from the clerk, who complied. The suspect escaped in a white 4-door GM-style pickup truck with a magnetic business advertisement on the passenger side door. The white male suspect exposed his face on surveillance video, which also showed him wearing an orange Nike-Just Do It t-shirt, ball cap, a camo jacket and gloves.
Call police at 862-8600 or CrimeStoppers at 74-CRIME if you recognize this man.

Houston brother will be his own attorney in court

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- A Roane County man will face federal gun violation charges next month without an attorney.
The Knoxville News Sentinel (http://bit.ly/17VlXpM ) reported Rocky Joe Houston will represent himself on a charge of possession of a gun by a felon.
The charge came after Houston earlier represented himself in state court on charges stemming from a police chase. He was convicted of evading arrest and reckless endangerment.
Houston and his brother, Leon Houston, were tried, but not convicted, in the 2006 shooting deaths of a Roane County deputy and his ride-along companion.
In federal court, Rocky Joe Houston is claiming the officer who charged him with the felony had no legal authority.
