WBFF Fox 45 :: Predators: Suter Leaves Team for Family Reasons
The Nashville Predators lose a prize player to the Minnesota Wild. Defenseman Ryan Suter is taking his talents north. General Manager David Poile tells Fox 17 Sports the deal breaker was not money. Instead, he says Suter left the Preds for family reasons. Poile did not give more details, other than to say Suter and his wife have family in Wisconsin. Poile says he spoke with Suter between 20 to 30 times during the season about staying with the Preds. He says The Preds' offer was competitive and met Suter's every desire. But Poile says there is not much you can do when the reason for leaving a team is family. Poile says the Preds are understandably disappointed and surprised at Suter's decision. He says now the team moves on and will use either free agency or trades to replace him. Poile says the focus is to build the team around defenseman Shea Weber.  Reports say Suter signed a 13 year, 98 million dollar contract with Minnesota. Suter was drafted in the first round by Nashville in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. He played seven seasons with the team.Predators: Suter Leaves Team for Family Reasons

Miss. chooses new firm to run Woodville prison
May 18, 2013 20:50 GMT

WOODVILLE, Miss. (AP) -- Mississippi officials have picked a new company to run the Wilkinson County Correctional Facility.

Utah-based Management and Training Corp. announced Friday that the Mississippi Department of Corrections has chosen it to run the 1,000-bed prison starting July 1, the Natchez Democrat reports (http://bit.ly/10MvOGv).

Corrections Corporation of America, based in Nashville, Tenn., had run the prison since 1998. MTC says it will keep "the vast majority" of employees.

MTC will get a five-year contract to run the prison with two one-year options. Last year, officials chose MTC to take over East Mississippi Correctional Facility, the Walnut Grove Correctional Facility and the Marshall County Correctional Facility from the GEO Group. MTC won 10-year contracts for each.

CCA still runs the Tallahatchie County Correctional Facility and the Adams County Correctional Center in Mississippi.
