"It breaks my heart that anything could have happened to that baby," said York.
Sitting outside her Winner's Circle Motel room in Clarksville she's noticed what she says has been suspicious behavior from the parents in room 216.
York says she noticed the couple leaving a number of times without their 9 month old baby.
The final straw came Saturday night when she says they left at 8 PM.
"I was sitting here with one of the ladies that lives down the hall and we both looked at each other , did you see them take the baby, nope," said York.
York immediately called motel management and she went with them inside that room where she says a 9 month old was on the edge of the bed with no supervision.
"She could have suffocated in that blanket they had her wrapped in. Anything you never know," said York.
York says it was at least an hour and a half before Parents Robert and Brittany Calles returned.
Motel clerk marjorie Hughes says they were away so long the baby could have died.
"They only told police they had been gone for 5 minutes and the police had been here for 25 minutes," said Hughes.
The couple's facebook pages list the baby's name as Leighya.
She's in the custody of the Department of Children's Services while her parents face Child Abuse/Neglect charges.
York says she's happy she kept a close eye on her neighbors
"Anything could have happened to that baby," said York. "The hotel could've caught fire and nobody known that baby was in there."
