- Highway 840 was a mess..... Tuesday afternoon....
Danny Rogers can tell you all about..
Danny Rogers/Semi Truck Driver
I was just cruising down the highway and all of the sudden I saw dust.
Before he knew what was happening, Rogers' yellow 18 wheeler, was 'front and center' of a big rockslide.
Rogers says: The whole side fell down rocks and everything. I had no way of stopping getting around it or anything because it just came right into me.
The boulders came crashing down near the Peytonsville / Trinity Road exit.... about a mile East of I-65 in rural Williamson County.
It's an occasional occurence in mountainous East Tennessee..... but uncommon for Midstate drivers.
Ray Hallavant / TDOT
Yeah it rarely happens. It looks like the soil got loosened up with all the heavy rains we've had lately and loosened up some of the rock and it fell.
Many parts of the midstate have seen much needed rain for 9 consecutive days .
Rogers says: I did the best I could . .I ran over some. it took the front end of my steering out... I had no control. So I locked in on the streering wheel held it tight til it came to a full stop. It came across the ditch, the median.. and onto the west bound side
You can see the tracks the trucker left as he tried to commandeer the truck. Amazingly, he didn't hit anyone.
TDOT brought in inmates to help shovel the boulders....
while stalled drivers waited it out....
Rogers says: I'm blessed to be alive.. I'm telling you because those big boulders over there. If one had come down on me.. I don't know what would have happened.

Tenn. Powerball ticket worth $1 million
May 19, 2013 18:44 GMT
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- A Powerball ticket sold in Tennessee barely missed winning a share of an estimated $590.5 million prize. But the ticket has a nice consolation prize worth $1 million.
Officials say the Powerball ticket worth $1 million was sold in Chattanooga.
There's no word yet on who won.
A Powerball ticket sold at a supermarket in Zephyrhills, Fla., matched all six numbers selected Saturday night for the estimated $590.5 million prize. It's the highest Powerball jackpot in history.
The winning numbers were 10, 13, 14, 22 and 52, with a Powerball of 11.
