WBFF Fox 45 :: Hendersonville Woman Helps Victims of Colorado Shooting
A Hendersonville woman visiting family in Denver was in the building at
the time of the tragic shooting that killed 12 people during a midnight
premiere of  the new Batman movie "The Dark Knight Rises" in Aurora,
Colorado last night.

Mia Sharp Bransford called in to Tennessee Mornings Friday just hours
after she left the theater to recount her experience.  Bransford,
who is a registered nurse, was in theater one at the time of the attack
that happened in theater nine.

When the emergency lights and sirens came on, she left through the
emergency exit and when she saw the wounded, immediately jumped into
help.  "My training kicked in and I said 'hey I'm a nurse what can I do
to help?' And because of the nature of the scene with it being so
unsafe, there weren't a lot of EMTs or medical professionals there it
was just a lot of police officers and a few firefighters so they gladly
accepted another set of hands to help and just assess victims, take
pulses, talk to victims until more help could arrive."

Listen to the full interview above.
Note: At the time of this live interview reports out of Colorado stated 14 people were killed. The fatality count was later adjusted.

The Republican governor said in a news release on Wednesday that the 70-year-old Ramsey has been integral to his administration on key initiatives that include civil service reform, economic development efforts, workforce development training and improved operation of state government.

Ramsey was elected to the General Assembly in 1972 where he served four years in the House. He was Hamilton County's mayor for 16 years.

His last day on the job is August 31.
