Pop superstar Mariah Carey has signed on as a judge for season twelve of American idol. She'll fill the spot vacated by fellow pop diva Jennifer Lopez. For now we know Carey will sit beside Randy Jackson with whom she has a close personal and professional relationship. What we don't know is who will fill that third seat. Former idol winners Cary Underwood and Adam Lambert have been rumored as possible judges but there's been no official announcement.
On a related note, the American Idol audition tour will be making a stop in Bowling Green, KY. The audition tour begins next month. No word yet on when the tour will make a stop in Bowling Green. We'll keep you posted.

TBI: Women more likely family violence victims

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- A new study of domestic violence in Tennessee last year found women were nearly two times more likely to be victimized than men and children were the victims in 16 percent of all family violence cases.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation put out a report this week analyzing crime statistics from law enforcement agencies across the state. Their findings show that nearly 15 percent of all crimes reported were domestic in nature.
The study looked at the relationships between victims and offenders as well as the influence of drugs and alcohol on family violence. The study found that more than 17 percent of family violence involves drugs or alcohol, with alcohol being the most common.
