What started as a project to help children is now proving to be a hit in local communities with adults.
The Vanderbilt Veggie Project helps children learn about fresh produce- where it comes from and why it is so important to include fruits and vegetables in your diet.
But these vegetable markets that sell cheap produce "drive through style" have given people an opportunity to eat healthy in areas where fresh fruits and vegetables are hard to come by.
Kyle Craig says, “It is cheap food we are selling it to them what we buy it to the farmers we are not making a profit at all so there is no excuse there as to whether or not to choose this over a hamburger.”
The Veggie Project has sold hundreds of pounds of produce in the last 8 weeks.
This is the last week for the Veggie Project in 2012- the left over items will go towards feeding the homeless and elderly.

Miss. chooses new firm to run Woodville prison

WOODVILLE, Miss. (AP) -- Mississippi officials have picked a new company to run the Wilkinson County Correctional Facility.
Utah-based Management and Training Corp. announced Friday that the Mississippi Department of Corrections has chosen it to run the 1,000-bed prison starting July 1, the Natchez Democrat reports (http://bit.ly/10MvOGv).
Corrections Corporation of America, based in Nashville, Tenn., had run the prison since 1998. MTC says it will keep "the vast majority" of employees.
MTC will get a five-year contract to run the prison with two one-year options. Last year, officials chose MTC to take over East Mississippi Correctional Facility, the Walnut Grove Correctional Facility and the Marshall County Correctional Facility from the GEO Group. MTC won 10-year contracts for each.
CCA still runs the Tallahatchie County Correctional Facility and the Adams County Correctional Center in Mississippi.
