Tennessee Titans' wide receiver O.J. Murdock died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound Monday Morning in Tampa, FL, according to police. Police found Murdock in his car in front of the high school where he graduated. He was taken to Tampa General Hospital in critical condition. Murdock died at 10:43 a.m. He was 25 years old.
"We are shocked and saddened to hear of Orenthal James Murdock`s death this morning. In his brief time here, a number of players, coaches and staff had grown close to O.J., and this is a difficult time for them," the Titans said in a statement.
Murdock was signed to the Titans in July 2011, but injured his right Achilles during training camp. This weekend Murdock was placed on the teams Reserve/Did Not Report list when he did not show up for training camp Friday. Murdock began his career at the University of South Carolina and later transferred to Fort Hays State where he played wide receiver and ran track.

Body found in Percy Priest Lake

SMYRNA, Tenn. (AP) -- Authorities say a body has been found in Percy Priest Lake in Middle Tennessee.
WSMV-TV (http://bit.ly/16gYKys) reports officials with Metro Police, the Office of Emergency Management and Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency were at the scene Saturday at Hole In The Wall Island. The body was reported to authorities about 11 a.m.
TWRA officials say they believe the deceased man is a boater who disappeared in the lake two weeks ago.
Police said the agencies coordinated with each other to get a boat in the water and recover the body.
