Officials say Pewitt`s Chapel in Franklin was destroyed in the fire that
started around 4 p.m. It started in an attached shed from a hot
lawnmower and spread to the church on Pewitt Road near Taylor Cemetery
Road. Crews had to travel 8 miles to get water to fight the flames. No
one was hurt. Pewitt`s Chapel was built in 1939. Firefighters say the fire spread quickly with the help of a 475 gallon propane tank that released propane to prevent from exploding while hot. The church is a total loss, but the pastor says church will continue as normal on Sunday morning- they plan to hold service in the parking lot.

Rebar finishing will add 40 jobs in Knox County

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Another 40 jobs are coming to Knox County as Gerdau (gair-DOW') expands its steel reinforcement bar plant.
The Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development says the new facility will apply finishing services to rebar now made at the company's Lonsdale mill.
TDEC Commissioner Bill Hagerty and Gerdau officials announced the expansion on Monday, saying the plant will have the capacity to finish about 120,000 tons of steel per year.
Knox County Mayor Tim Burchett said it was good to see a vacant building in the WestBridge Business Park be put back into industrial use.
