WBFF Fox 45 :: Caitlyn Green: Graduates High School At 15 To Pursue Music Career
Fox 17 Entertainment Reporter Stacy McCloud brings us the story of an
aspiring singer/songwriter who did what some would consider - the
impossible - all to pursue her dream of a music career.

    13
year old Caitlyn Green is so focused on music that she put her education
on a fast track. She Graduated with a high school diploma in half the
time it would normally take!

Many 13 year olds in Middle Tennessee headed back to the classroom this week, but not Caitlyn Green.

"I
graduated High School when I was 12 because I was very determined to
get into my music and I couldn't do my music without my parents syaing
well you have to finish school before you can play guitar and write
songs" says Caitlyn.

Instead of being buried in text books, Caitlyn now spends her days studying music.

"Right
now my music is my college because I am learning so much with my
producer about writing and I am taking guitar from Gary who was in the
box tops" says Caitlyn.

The decision to finish school so early was one her parents had an easy time making.

Caitlyn's mom says her daughter has always been gifted - it's why she
never enrolled her in public schools, home schooling her daughter
instead.

"She was so far ahead i just couldn't put her in
school. She was already at a college level reading when she was 8 years
old" says Caitlyn's mom Li Green.

That was also the age Caitlyn sang Amazing Grace at church and realized singing was what she wanted to do for a living.

"That
was the first time I felt that sensation of that oh I wanna do this.
This is so much fun performing in front of people" says Caitlyn.

Caitlyn moved to Nasvhille from Colorado with  her mom and dad a little
more than a year ago, so that all day, every day, the focus could be
music.

"I am glad I don't have to go to school and sit there
and think about how I can't wait till the next break so I can play
music" says Caitlyn.

So far, it's been time well spent.
Caitlyn has written dozens of songs, released her first music video and a six song ep.

"In my opinion the earlier you start something you have more time to look at mistakes and grow" says Caitlyn.

Tenn. Powerball ticket worth $1 million
May 19, 2013 18:44 GMT

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- A Powerball ticket sold in Tennessee barely missed winning a share of an estimated $590.5 million prize. But the ticket has a nice consolation prize worth $1 million.

Officials say the Powerball ticket worth $1 million was sold in Chattanooga.

There's no word yet on who won.

A Powerball ticket sold at a supermarket in Zephyrhills, Fla., matched all six numbers selected Saturday night for the estimated $590.5 million prize. It's the highest Powerball jackpot in history.

The winning numbers were 10, 13, 14, 22 and 52, with a Powerball of 11.
