A 5 month old from Donelson is dead after being left in his mother's minivan. Police say Stephanie Gray was supposed to drop her son Joel off at the Child Care Center at Donelson Heights United Methodist Church on Tuesday. Investigators say Gray took her 3 older children to school and returned home. She apparently didn't realize the infant had been left in the van until she arrived at the church to pick him up at 2:30pm Tuesday afternoon.
"She was informed that her son was not there. She ran to her minivan and found the 5 month old child inside the van," says Metro Police Department's Kris Mumford. "He was carried into the daycare center. It's believed he was deceased from being in the van for an extended period in the heat."
Police say Stephanie Gray was extremely distraught and taken to a local hospital for treatment. So far, no charges have been filed, but Metro Police say the District Attorney will be consulted as the investigation continues.

Arrest made in fatal shooting in Memphis

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- Memphis police have arrested a man accused of fatally shooting one man and wounding another.
The Commercial Appeal (http://bit.ly/188G97s ) reports that 21-year-old Setric Hall has been charged with second-degree murder, aggravated assault, attempted second-degree murder and using a firearm during a felony.
He's being held in the Shelby County Jail.
Police say the shootings occurred Wednesday night. Officers found a 26-year-old man on the floor with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead there, and later identified as Devin Cox.
A few minutes later, officers responded to another location, where they found a 22-year-old man with a gunshot wound. He was taken to the Regional Medical Center at Memphis.
Police believe that Hall was trying to shoot his girlfriend when the 22-year-old man intervened.
The girlfriend was not injured.
