Covington is used to the adrenaline that comes with singing on stage, but what he's feeling as he suits up to drive laps at around 90mph is a little different. Covington is getting in a few practice runs, trying to decrease his lap time. He admits it gets a little intense inside the car. All of this is in preparation for Saturday's charity race that will raise money for an organization called "The Good Guys" that helps firefighters in need. Covington will sing a few songs for the crowd, then jump in his car. As a lifelong race fan, he says getting to sing and race in one day is like a double dream come true! More than chasing a dream, he's driving these laps for the firefighters.
The race and concert is this Saturday at the Fairgrounds. Covington will have an autograph signing at 4pm, concert at 4:30pm and then race at 5:30pm. For more information on how you can attend or race yourself, visit our webpage and click on Music City Beat.

Former Dyer County constable sentenced to prison
May 23, 2013 12:50 GMT
DYERSBURG, Tenn. (AP) -- Former Dyer County Constable Derick Shane Hundley has been sentenced to 25 years in federal prison.
The State Gazette (http://bit.ly/14UHydd ) reported Hundley was sentenced Monday after earlier entering a guilty plea to enticement of a minor through electronic means. The government dropped a child pornography count.
Prosecutors said Hundley, who is 30, used a cellphone to try to entice a minor female to have sex with him. Police arrested Hundley last July and found an external hard drive that contained numerous images of minors involved in sex. He resigned from the constable post he had won in 2010 after his arrest.
