WBFF Fox 45 :: Rookie Metro Officer Decommissioned After Aggravated Trespassing
An off-duty rookie Metro police officer is charged with aggravated trespassing and public intoxication after his neighbor reported that he inexplicably demanded to enter her home today.
Robert Shouse, 39, who graduated less than two weeks ago after nearly six months of training at the department's academy and was still on probation, has been decommissioned of all police authority, according to police.
A 35-year-old woman who lives near Shouse on Oak Knoll Drive reported that she heard loud knocking on her back door shortly before noon on Sunday afternoon.  When she answered, the man standing outside said that he was a police officer and that he needed to come inside.
The woman said Shouse appeared dazed and that a struggle ensued over the door as she tried to shut it. She ran from her home and screamed for help as she saw Shouse briefly enter the residence.
Shouse was found by police outside the townhome development and took him into custody. Shouse smelled of alcohol and appeared bewildered.
Shouse bonded out of jail on $2,000.

Houston brother will be his own attorney in court
June 18, 2013 13:02 GMT

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- A Roane County man will face federal gun violation charges next month without an attorney.

The Knoxville News Sentinel (http://bit.ly/17VlXpM ) reported Rocky Joe Houston will represent himself on a charge of possession of a gun by a felon.

The charge came after Houston earlier represented himself in state court on charges stemming from a police chase. He was convicted of evading arrest and reckless endangerment.

Houston and his brother, Leon Houston, were tried, but not convicted, in the 2006 shooting deaths of a Roane County deputy and his ride-along companion.

In federal court, Rocky Joe Houston is claiming the officer who charged him with the felony had no legal authority.
