WBFF Fox 45 :: Dish Network Subscribers Could Soon Lose FOX17, CW58 and MYTV30
Dish Network subscribers could soon lose FOX17, CW58 and MYTV30. Our parent company and Dish are debating what's fair when it comes to carrying our programming. Sinclair Broadcast group, which owns this station, and Dish Network are negotiating a new contract to give Dish the right to broadcast our signal. The current deal ends at midnight on August 15. That means at 12:01am August 16, our signal on Dish could go black. There are several factors involved, but like most business deals, money is one of the points being debated. Dish pays Sinclair Broadcast Group to run its programs, and Dish in turn charges its customers. The cost of producing those programs continues to get more expensive.

Negotiations like this are becoming more common. Dish no longer carries the AMC Network because of a contract dispute. DirecTv temporarily took Viacom networks like Comedy Central and Nickelodeon off the air during negotiations. Sinclair will continue to negotiate with Dish to reach an agreement before the deadline. In the meantime, remember you can watch our signal FREE over the air, and it is available from DirecTv and your local cable company. You can also go one step further.

If you're a Dish subscriber, you can tell them whatever station you're concerned about by calling Dish at 1.888.926.5457 and telling them you want these stations.

We've reached out to Dish Network for a comment for several days. Today, Dish released a statement saying Sinclair was asking for rates higher than they would agree to pay some other channels. Our parent company says the rate request is far less than what Dish is paying for channels that are far less popular than ours.Dish Network Subscribers Could Soon Lose FOX17, CW58 and MYTV30

May 25, 2013 20:14 GMT

SMYRNA, Tenn. (AP) -- Authorities say a body has been found in Percy Priest Lake in Middle Tennessee.

WSMV-TV (http://bit.ly/16gYKys) reports officials with Metro Police, the Office of Emergency Management and Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency were at the scene Saturday at Hole In The Wall Island. The body was reported to authorities about 11 a.m.

TWRA officials say they believe the deceased man is a boater who disappeared in the lake two weeks ago.

Police said the agencies coordinated with each other to get a boat in the water and recover the body.
