Details of a disturbing accident, but the really shocking part is what happened after the crash. The driver of the motorcycle involved in that accident says no one stopped to help, including the driver who hit him. His vertebrae snapped, but Nicholas Carulla's memory is crystal clear about the car that put him there. 544 is the first 3 license plate numbers of the driver that hit Carulla as he was taking the Hickory Hollow exit on his brother's motorcycle Wednesday morning. Carulla didn't have time to see the rest of the license plate.

"It definitely entered his mind whether to get out or not, but he made the conscious decision to drive off," says Carulla.

The vehicle is described as a silver or gray 4-door Ford Sedan with those 3 license plate numbers. Until that driver is found, Carulla says he's responsible for his hospital bills and the expense of his brother's bike. Mother Carie Turk says the whole thing is hard to understand.

"There's consequences for him for the actions of someone else," says Turk. "They need to take responsibility for what they did."

The driver isn't the only one the family feels skirted responsibilities. Carulla says no one bothered to stop to help, despite the fact the motorcycle was laying right in the middle of the street. A shocking end to an accident this motorcycle rider says he's pretty lucky to have survived. Carulla says doctors at Centennial Medical Center will decide tomorrow whether to operate on his back.
