WBFF Fox 45 :: UPDATE: Motorcycle Hit and Run
We have video of a hit and run accident that could have been deadly. That video shows a car crashing into a motorcycle, then speeding off near Hickory Hollow Mall in Antioch. We first brought you Nick Carulla's story last week. Since then, he's found security camera video of the accident. Carulla is hoping someone who sees it recognizes the car that sped away. Look closely at the upper left hand corner of your screen. The first headlight is a motorcycle that is then hit from behind by a car. Nick Carulla was on that motorcycle last Wednesday. He survived with a fractured vertebrae. The bigger problem, though, is something else. Carulla was driving his brother's motorcycle, so insurance isn't covering the estimated $50,000 in medical bills. The driver responsible isn't paying because we don't know who he is. After stopping for a few moments, that driver sped away so fast Carulla didn't get the full license plate. The vehicle is believed to be a silver or grey 4-door sedan with a license plate number beginning with 544. The only image we have of it is this video Carulla located himself Monday at a service station. He believes police should be doing more to find the car that could have killed him. Metro Police declined to talk to us on camera, but a spokesperson says this accident is being taken seriously. That spokesperson says a detective is on it, but the hit and run department has a lot of cases to work and only 2 detectives. Police say they don't consider this a high priority case because Carulla's injuries were not life threatening.UPDATE: Motorcycle Hit and Run

Tishomingo County voters OK beer, alcohol sales
May 22, 2013 23:38 GMT

IUKA, Miss. (AP) -- Tishomingo County is the latest Mississippi jurisdiction to legalize alcohol sales.

Voters approved the sale of liquor, wine and beer Tuesday, reports the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal (http://bit.ly/13JCcix).

It wasn't clear referendums would pass until affidavit ballots were counted Wednesday.

With more than half Tishomingo County's voters casting ballots, legalizing alcohol passed by 42 votes, while legalizing beer and light wine passed by 73. The county borders Alabama and Tennessee.

Lawmakers legalized liquor at a proposed resort at the county's Bay Springs Lake in 2010, but it wasn't built.

Greene County voters legalized beer sales last year, while Corinth, New Albany and Senatobia have legalized alcohol sales under a 2012 law that allows cities to hold votes.

Mississippi has 13 remaining counties that allow no beer or alcohol sales.
