A tragic accident claimed the life of a 21-month-old girl in Old Hickory Thursday night. It happened on the 1700 block of Aaronwood Drive.
Police say the girl's dad stopped his truck to offer some neighborhood children a ride home.He said his daughter got excited, and freed herself from her child seat and climbed into the front.
But when the boys opened the passenger door, she started to fall out. Her dad leaned over to grab her, but accidently hit the gas, and the back tire hit the girl.
The toddler died at the hospital. Undoubtedly distraught, police say the father was also taken to the hospital for care.

Body found in Percy Priest Lake

SMYRNA, Tenn. (AP) -- Authorities say a body has been found in Percy Priest Lake in Middle Tennessee.
WSMV-TV (http://bit.ly/16gYKys) reports officials with Metro Police, the Office of Emergency Management and Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency were at the scene Saturday at Hole In The Wall Island. The body was reported to authorities about 11 a.m.
TWRA officials say they believe the deceased man is a boater who disappeared in the lake two weeks ago.
Police said the agencies coordinated with each other to get a boat in the water and recover the body.
