East Precinct detectives are working to identify the man who on September 3rd robbed the Subway in the 2400 block of Gallatin Avenue. Police say the suspect entered the restaurant at 3:25 p.m. and forcibly took cash from the register. We're told he fled in a newer model silver car with no visible license tag number. Officials say the robber is a white man with brown hair in his 20s or early 30s. Police tell us he is approximately 5’10” tall and weighs approximately 170 pounds. We're told at the time of the robbery, he had a beard and mustache. Anyone who recognizes the suspect from the attached surveillance photo is urged to contact East Precinct detectives at 862-7525 or Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME. Citizens can also send an electronic tip to Crime Stoppers by texting the word “CASH” along with their message to 274637 (CRIMES) or online at www.nashvillecrimestoppers.com. Persons who contact Crime Stoppers by phone, text or Internet can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward.

Houston brother will be his own attorney in court

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- A Roane County man will face federal gun violation charges next month without an attorney.
The Knoxville News Sentinel (http://bit.ly/17VlXpM ) reported Rocky Joe Houston will represent himself on a charge of possession of a gun by a felon.
The charge came after Houston earlier represented himself in state court on charges stemming from a police chase. He was convicted of evading arrest and reckless endangerment.
Houston and his brother, Leon Houston, were tried, but not convicted, in the 2006 shooting deaths of a Roane County deputy and his ride-along companion.
In federal court, Rocky Joe Houston is claiming the officer who charged him with the felony had no legal authority.
