According to Metro Police, the male victim was standing in the parking lot of the apartment complex, visiting friends, when a vehicle with three men drove up to the victim and asked him for money. The suspects then opened fire.
The victim was struck two times in his legs. He was transported to Vanderbilt with serious but not life threatening injuries.
The suspects are described as black males, ages 16-20, 5'6"-5'8" in height, weighing 130-135 lbs., and wearing all black clothing. The suspects vehicle is a white or gray Dodge/Chrysler, Sebring bubble top, with tinted windows and damage to the driver’s side.
Police continue to investigate.

Haslam's chief deputy Claude Ramsey to retire

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Gov. Bill Haslam says chief deputy Claude Ramsey is retiring at the end of August to spend more time with his family in Chattanooga.
The Republican governor said in a news release on Wednesday that the 70-year-old Ramsey has been integral to his administration on key initiatives that include civil service reform, economic development efforts, workforce development training and improved operation of state government.
Ramsey was elected to the General Assembly in 1972 where he served four years in the House. He was Hamilton County's mayor for 16 years.
His last day on the job is August 31.
