Police are investigating a shooting in Wilson County that involves a man and his girlfriend.
FOX17 News has been told that the shooting victim is being treated at Vanderbilt. She is 29-years-old and in critical condition. Police say she was shot multiple times by her boyfriend, Corey Montrell Clemmons. Police say Clemmons and the victim live together in Lebanon. They say he shot his girlfriend several times at Clemmons' mother's house this afternoon on Beckwith Road in Mt. Juliet. Nobody else was at home at the time.
Clemmons and the victim have two children together. Both are two-years-old or younger. We have been told that a relative of Clemmons is caring for the children tonight.
So far, police have not released a possible motive in the case. As of right now, they are not releasing the victim's name.

Work beginning on Civil War park in Knoxville

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- A Civil War landmark in East Tennessee will soon become a low-impact park that allows public access and preserves the area's historical integrity.
High Ground Park is being created at the site of Fort Higley in south Knoxville, which was manned by Union soldiers during the Siege of Knoxville in 1863.
The Knoxville News Sentinel (http://bit.ly/11Vb6XJ) reports the park is scheduled to open on Nov. 27, which is the 150th anniversary of the construction of Fort Higley.
Bob Young, who has been involved in the effort to preserve the site, says it is "a treasure."
