WBFF Fox 45 :: Former Williamson Co. Principal Won't Face Charges in One County for Underage Sex Scandal
New details in a teenage sex scandal that led to the resignation of the Principal at Centennial High School.
Today, the school system released a series of secretly recorded conversations between Dr. Frank Brown and a woman he allegedly began a sexual relationship with 10 years ago while she was a student. The allegations stem from when he was teaching at McGavock High School in Donelson. Sandra Jordan has been named interim Principal of the school.
Lawyers for Dr. Brown released a statement on Wednesday:
"The allegations against Dr. Brown are absolutely false and outrageous. Dr. Brown has never had an inappropriate relationship with any student in any school where he has worked.
He is distraught that Williamson County School System did not even bother to conduct the slightest investigation or due process, opting instead to simply accept the story from a source that is far from credible, and coercing him to sign a resignation against his will.
The story is manufactured. Even a brief investigation of the criminal background of the source of the story undermines its credibility. The audio recordings are fake. The emails are fake. Common sense indicates that if Dr. Brown were attempting to engage in some secret lurid activity, he would not do so through a private email address called "fbrownprincipal@yahoo.com." That is not, and never has been, an email address Dr. Brown has used."
"Dr. Brown did briefly date the woman at issue several years ago," according to the statement. It also states that she has tried to contact him since in attempt to revive the relationship - which he rejected.
Lawyers for Dr. Brown say they are in the process of preparing a more complete telling of the story.

Houston brother will be his own attorney in court
June 18, 2013 13:02 GMT

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- A Roane County man will face federal gun violation charges next month without an attorney.

The Knoxville News Sentinel (http://bit.ly/17VlXpM ) reported Rocky Joe Houston will represent himself on a charge of possession of a gun by a felon.

The charge came after Houston earlier represented himself in state court on charges stemming from a police chase. He was convicted of evading arrest and reckless endangerment.

Houston and his brother, Leon Houston, were tried, but not convicted, in the 2006 shooting deaths of a Roane County deputy and his ride-along companion.

In federal court, Rocky Joe Houston is claiming the officer who charged him with the felony had no legal authority.
