If you make it down to the Governor's mansion for the First Lady's Christmas tour, pay special attention to the tree just inside the front door. It's decorated with beautiful white lights, ribbons and 95 ornamental balls, one representing every county in the state. At the First Lady's urging, each county mayor selected an artist from their county to create a one-of-a-kind ornament for the tree. The "Tennessee Arts" tree is one of 4 giant themed trees on the main level of the mansion.

Man charged with faking marriage to visit inmate

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (AP) -- Washington County authorities say a man faked a marriage certificate so he could visit a woman held in the Johnson City Detention Facility.
The Johnson City Press (http://bit.ly/14QBr9L ) reports investigators discovered the ruse after the May 14 visit by 32-year-old Robert S. Hicks of Elizabethton. Hicks was arrested Tuesday on a charge of criminal simulation. He was jailed at the Washington County Detention Center in lieu of $10,000 bond, pending a court appearance Wednesday.
