WBFF Fox 45 :: Teens Arrested For Stealing Mail, Christmas Money
Two teenagers were arrested by Metro Police yesterday after allegedly stealing several pieces of mail from the Pinehurst Drive and Willow Springs Drive area near Forest Hills.
Nickolas Dillard, 19, and Demonta Haynes, 18, were each booked on 18 charges of theft and vandalism after a police officer noticed Haynes tossing mail into a creek, according to police reports. Dillard was identified by Haynes as the person who gave him the mail to dispose of.
Police found in Haynes pocket a $100 bill, a Christmas card, an open envelope and a check belonging to the individual whose mail Haynes had. He could not give police a clear explanation of where the cash came from. He stated that the check was payment for an X-Box that he sold.
Both teens are being held on $30,000 bond.Teens Arrested For Stealing Mail, Christmas Money

Houston brother will be his own attorney in court
June 18, 2013 13:02 GMT

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- A Roane County man will face federal gun violation charges next month without an attorney.

The Knoxville News Sentinel (http://bit.ly/17VlXpM ) reported Rocky Joe Houston will represent himself on a charge of possession of a gun by a felon.

The charge came after Houston earlier represented himself in state court on charges stemming from a police chase. He was convicted of evading arrest and reckless endangerment.

Houston and his brother, Leon Houston, were tried, but not convicted, in the 2006 shooting deaths of a Roane County deputy and his ride-along companion.

In federal court, Rocky Joe Houston is claiming the officer who charged him with the felony had no legal authority.
