"I had a lock up here and they kicked that in and the safe is already back there," says Cross. "See, in the back corner."
Cross says that's exactly what they were looking for. The robbers made off with at least $1300 in cash, prescription pills, and a smart phone, but before they left, they made sure to put this bounty hunter on the other side of intimidation. For 10 frightening minutes, the armed robbers were inside the home. Frank was hiding behind the Christmas tree, his kids were sleeping upstairs and his girlfriend was in the shower.
"I heard the gun cock at her head," says Cross. "She said they put it right at her head and cocked it. So, I had to come on out and open up the safe and get whipped in the process."
Cross spent most of the overnight hours in the hospital, and had to get staples for the giant gash in the back of his head.
"It was 100% sure an inside job," says Cross. "Someone I know has told someone I keep money here and there and meds in that locked safe."
The bounty hunter says he's now putting up new doors and additional dead bolt locks and is now sleeping with one eye open. The gunmen are still on the loose tonight. Cross describes one of the robbers as a heavy set man, at least 350lbs. and dressed in a red hoodie. The other 2 men were at least 6 feet tall, wearing black pants and colorful shirts.
