WBFF Fox 45 :: UPDATE: Woman with ALS has Devastating Disease, Contagious Smile
Neva's health has continued to decline and as much as she would like to continue working, she has had to stop. She is enjoying spending time outside in her new sun room. This is a great Christmas story because the room was a gift from American Home Design. The Midstate company heard about Neva's health and her contagious positive attitude, and the owner decided to do something to help her enjoy each and every day to the fullest.

"Her enthusiasm and inspiration to all of us was just amazing," says Don Bruce. "I kept getting reports back from all my people how she just moved them every time they met with her. Even our workers out there bragged on how nice she was."

"Her gift is her smile," says Bob Granowski. "People say well that's just a smile. You sit in a wheelchair 24/7, not move a muscle, not scratch an itch, and when I come back let me see you smile like that. She's just, she's full of faith and strength and I truly believe that's why this gift came about."

Neva says she just wants to spread joy and hope in her final days. American Home Design rushed the $25,000 project through codes because of Neva's failing health. The sun room has allowed her to be closer to nature and enjoy the beauty around her.

National exhibit on Civil War in Nashville
May 20, 2013 08:09 GMT

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- A national traveling exhibit on the Civil War will be on display at Nashville's Green Hills Library beginning on Monday.

The exhibit lets viewers experience the war through the eyes of politicians, soldiers, families and freed slaves. It includes letters, personal accounts and images that demonstrate how people grappled with the end of slavery, the nature of democracy and citizenship, the human toll of the war and the role of a president in wartime.

According to the library, the Gilder Lehrman Institute developed the exhibition to mark the 150th anniversary of the Civil War.

More information on the exhibit is available at http://www.library.nashville.org .
