Police say Tanika Woodard, 29, is being charged with Attempted Criminal Homicide for shooting her husband. Dareginald McClain, 32, told police he was in the bedroom asleep on Friday afternoon when Woodard came in and threw a cell phone at him. He says she began yelling and accusing him of cheating on her, then picked up a lamp and threw it at him. After he got up and put on his clothing, turning to leave the bedroom, he says he saw her with a gun in her hand. He says she fire at him and missed, hitting the bedroom wall. The 2nd shot, however, hit him in the right leg just above his knee. He says he sat down on the bed when Woodard pointed the gun in his face and threatened to kill him. McClain said he grabbed his stuff and left, going to a house, at which point someone drove him to General Hospital.

State officials to hold seat belt campaign event

SPRINGFIELD, Tenn. (AP) -- The Governor's Highway Safety Office plans to announce its "Click It or Ticket" campaign on Friday.
The event is scheduled to take place at 1 p.m. at the Robertson County Courthouse in Springfield.
Nationally, statistics show seat belt use increased significantly in 2012 as compared to 2011 among drivers, right-front passengers and backseat occupants.
However, officials say more than 400 of Tennessee's crash fatalities last year involved unrestrained drivers or passengers.
The Governor's Highway Safety Office urges all motorists to buckle up.
