WBFF Fox 45 :: Man Who Identifies Himself as Calif. PD Arrested Downtown Nashville
A man who identifies himself as a member of a California Police Department was arrested in downtown Nashville early Monday morning.
Ryan Thompson was arrested at Bailey's Iris Pub, 411 Broadway, after he was found wandering around the kitchen area after hours, according to Metro police reports. He was also observed banking on the front window after being escorted out. When police arrived, Thompson was so intoxicated that they deemed him a danger and took him into custody.
While in police custody, Thompson became increasingly belligerent. He identified himself as a member of the Culver City, California Police Department.
Thompson then made threats against the officers family on multiple occasions, saying “I can’t wait to get a hold of your son”.  An officer asked Thompson if he was threatening officer’s family and the defendant replied no.
At that point, Thompson then made another statement, “I’m not threatening your family but I’m going to f*** them up.” Based on the defendant’s occupation as a police officer and his ability to pull up personal information the threat was deemed credible.Man Who Identifies Himself as Calif. Memphis libraries seeking funding
May 25, 2013 13:07 GMT

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- The public library system in Memphis is hoping to secure $2.9 million to add employees and increase its collection.

The Memphis Daily News (http://bit.ly/19BANxH) reports the Memphis Public Library & Information Center cites the figures as part of its strategic plan.

A study by the Friends of the Library and the Memphis Library Foundation found that during the past five years, the system's budget has been cut 21 percent and hours were reduced 20 percent.

The goal of the new funding would be to add 47 employees to the 18-location library system and increase the collections budget to $2 million from less than $1 million.

Library director Keenon McCloy says the plan is a "roadmap for the future."
