Crews are working to get the situation under control and say it's taking longer than usual because they have to jackhammer through the concrete to get to the underground piping to fix the leak.
Workers are pumping the water out and its draining down northbound. Right now several businesses are without water.
The roads in the area have been brined and salted, according to crews at the scene, to keep this overflow of water from freezing up and turning into black ice. However, the parking lot next to the street is icing over, as well as nearby sidewalks.
The good news is traffic is still moving. The northbound side of the road is down to one lane and right now the southbound lanes are unaffected.
