WBFF Fox 45 :: Psychiatrist testifies in murder case - Sky Arnold
GALLATIN, Tenn. - "The next time this happens you will be excluded from this courtroom," says Judge Dee David Gay.

A judge delivers harsh words to a Hendersonville mother on trial for smothering her newborn twins. Judge Gay scolded Lindsey Lowe for visibly showing emotions in a Sumner County courtroom for a 2nd day. She's accused of hiding her pregnancy and then smothering her sons after birth. Lowe's defense said Thursday she suffers from several mental disorders that made her not realize she was pregnant. Psychiatrist William Kenner says Lowe has suffered from disassociation since childhood because of a medical condition that forced her to urinate on herself.

"There was a great deal of shame, embarrassment associated with her urinary tract problems and an ability to tune out was actually helpful to her," says Kenner.

Kenner says because of Lowe's emotional state, she freezes like a deer in headlights during challenging situations. He says Lowe also suffers from depression. Perhaps the most shocking development came when Lowe's defense claimed she was actually a victim in the pregnancy.

Man charged with faking marriage to visit inmate
May 22, 2013 13:32 GMT

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (AP) -- Washington County authorities say a man faked a marriage certificate so he could visit a woman held in the Johnson City Detention Facility.

The Johnson City Press (http://bit.ly/14QBr9L ) reports investigators discovered the ruse after the May 14 visit by 32-year-old Robert S. Hicks of Elizabethton. Hicks was arrested Tuesday on a charge of criminal simulation. He was jailed at the Washington County Detention Center in lieu of $10,000 bond, pending a court appearance Wednesday.
