WBFF Fox 45 :: Who Will Your Donations Help Tomorrow?
While many of us are preparing for a Thanksgiving feast next week, others are still struggling to put food on the table. That's why FOX17 has teamed up with the Nashville Predators and the Second Harvest Food Bank to host the Feeding Hope Food Drive tomorrow at Bridgestone Arena. That all starts at 6:30am. You can bring your food donations by all day through 10pm. So, who does it help? Mary Alice Raasoner is doing what she has to these days to make ends meet, which means coming to the Goodlettsville Food Bank once a month - a trip she never thought she'd have to make.

"My husband and I both, both had good jobs, and we were knocked down by illness, so what do you do?" says Raasoner.

So many like Mary Alice rely on the helping hand of emergency food box sites, which are run in part by donations from the Second Harvest Food Bank. At the warehouse, the shelves are stocked full of donated goods. While it looks like a lot, it's still not enough. The demand is up 18% from what it was last year, and that's where you come in. On Thursday, FOX17 is teaming up with the Nashville Predators and and the Second Harvest Food Bank to host the Feeding Hope Challenge food drive. Our goal? To provide 10 million meals to those in need this holiday season.

"We're trying something new," says Second Harvest Food Bank's Tasha Kennard. "We're trying to make it as easy as possible. All you have to do is grab something form your pantry, get something from your grocery store, pick up peanut butter, canned fruits and vegetables, cereal, and drive it by Bridgestone Arena and we will pick it up from you. You don't even have to get out of your car."

A simple way to give back, and give hope to those like Mary Alice. That all kicks off tomorrow starting at 6:30am outside of Bridgestone Arena. We'll be out there, along with the Nashville Predators, collecting your donations. You can come by before work, during your lunch break or at the end of the day until 10pm.Who Will Your Donations Help Tomorrow?

Tenn. Powerball ticket worth $1 million
May 19, 2013 18:44 GMT

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- A Powerball ticket sold in Tennessee barely missed winning a share of an estimated $590.5 million prize. But the ticket has a nice consolation prize worth $1 million.

Officials say the Powerball ticket worth $1 million was sold in Chattanooga.

There's no word yet on who won.

A Powerball ticket sold at a supermarket in Zephyrhills, Fla., matched all six numbers selected Saturday night for the estimated $590.5 million prize. It's the highest Powerball jackpot in history.

The winning numbers were 10, 13, 14, 22 and 52, with a Powerball of 11.
