WBFF Fox 45 :: XFactor Season 2 Winner Tate Stevens Preps for Release of Debut Album - Stacy McCloud
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Season 2 XFactor winner Tate Stevens hasn't moved to Nashville just yet, but he has been spending a lot of time here picking songs and writing for his big debut. We sat down with him to get all the details about his debut album and found out this actually isn't his first attempt at a country music career. From the first episode until the last, Tate Stevens was a front runner on Season 2 of the XFactor.

"Simon actually said, I would write that check now," says Stevens. "I was like my name starts with a T."

He's no doubt talented, but gives country music fans all the credit!

"I didn't think I was gonna win," says Stevens. "Just did the best I could do every week. Fortunately for me, country fans are amazing. They put me here."

Stevens was part of the Over 30 group and says he often felt out of place on the show.

"I was always looking around, going wow, here I am the old guy here," says Stevens.

This isn't Stevens' first attempt at a country music career - he actually came to Nashville years ago.

"I did it a long time ago in the 90s, I was here a lot, and tried to make it, on the road, it just never happened," says Stevens. "Not many people get a shot at this level anyway, and for me to have a 2nd chance is pretty amazing."

When Stevens arrived in Nashville this go round, he hit the ground running.

"Got in town January 3 and started right away looking and listening to songs," says Stevens. "First week I think I listened to 400 songs!"

He even got to write with his favorite artist Joe Diffy. We can't give away too much about the album, but we can say that a song he and Diffy wrote together made the cut!

"I remember he started singing a part of it and I was like, ah, it's not fair how good he is, it's crazy," says Stevens.

Stevens says he's really proud of the album. Songs that are a great introduction to who he is, not only as a singer, but a person as well.

"I'm a pretty emotional guy, so couple emotional songs on a record but everything else is pretty upbeat and fun," says Stevens. "I'm just a normal guy, no frills, but I like to have fun and I wanted that to come across on the album."

Tate's album will be available April 23, but it is available for pre-sale now. For a link to how you can buy, just click here.XFactor Season 2 Winner Tate Stevens Preps for Release of Debut Album - Stacy McCloud

Tishomingo County voters OK beer, alcohol sales
May 22, 2013 23:38 GMT

IUKA, Miss. (AP) -- Tishomingo County is the latest Mississippi jurisdiction to legalize alcohol sales.

Voters approved the sale of liquor, wine and beer Tuesday, reports the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal (http://bit.ly/13JCcix).

It wasn't clear referendums would pass until affidavit ballots were counted Wednesday.

With more than half Tishomingo County's voters casting ballots, legalizing alcohol passed by 42 votes, while legalizing beer and light wine passed by 73. The county borders Alabama and Tennessee.

Lawmakers legalized liquor at a proposed resort at the county's Bay Springs Lake in 2010, but it wasn't built.

Greene County voters legalized beer sales last year, while Corinth, New Albany and Senatobia have legalized alcohol sales under a 2012 law that allows cities to hold votes.

Mississippi has 13 remaining counties that allow no beer or alcohol sales.
