Who Can Enter
1. To be eligible to participate in this contest, entrants must be Tennessee or Kentucky residents who are 18 years of age or older and reside in the WZTV-FOX 17 viewing area.
2. Employees of Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, Inc., Sinclair Television of Tennessee, Inc. and Sinclair Television of Nashville, Inc. and any other company which owns, programs or provides other services to television broadcast station WZTV-FOX 17 (the “Station”) Fox Broadcasting Company, News America, Inc., Fox Interactive Media, FremantleMedia North America, Inc., American Idol Productions, Inc., 19 TV Limited, 19 Merchandising Ltd., CKX, Inc., their parent, subsidiary, affiliated and related entities, and the officers, directors, employees, licensees and assignees of each, their affiliated companies, advertising and promotion agencies, any and all local television broadcast and cable stations, local radio and other media companies, and the immediate family members of each are ineligible. The term “immediate families” includes spouses, grandparents, parents, siblings, children and grandchildren.
How to Enter
(a) No purchase is necessary to enter. Only one entry per contestant.
(b) From April 28, 2008 through May 15, 2008, watch Fox 17 News at 9pm from (9pm-10pm) on WZTV-FOX 17 on weekday nights (Monday through Friday) and Tennessee Mornings on WZTV-FOX 17 at 7am from (7am-9am) on weekday mornings (Monday through Friday) for a cue to call on each show. At the time that calls are solicited, the criteria for winning will be announced (e.g. first six callers, tenth caller, first caller with the correct answer). Each correct caller with the correct answer will qualify to win the Grand Prize. Thirty (30) qualifiers will be selected and one (1) grand prize winner will be randomly selected from the thirty (30) qualifiers on May 16, 2008.
(c) One or more contests may be announced from time to time. More than one contest may run simultaneously, but entries will only be solicited for one contest at a time. Station is not responsible for any telephone system failure or malfunctions or other inability of entrants to reach telephone entry line.
(d) Winners will be selected in accordance with the criteria announced when calls are solicited. The contest will be judged by Station personnel, and the decision of the judges will be final as to all matters, including (i) the order in which calls were received and (ii) whether any answer required to be given is correct.
(e) By calling the designated telephone line, each contestant gives permission to Station to record and/or broadcast contestant’s telephone call. All entries received from ineligible entrants will be void. All entries become the property of Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, Inc. and the Station.
The Prize(s)
1. Thirty (30) qualifiers will be selected. Each qualifier will receive a FOX 17/American Idol prize pack. One (1) grand prize winner will receive a trip for two (2) to the American Idol finale live show on May 21, 2007 in Los Angeles, CA. The trip package includes (i) roundtrip airfare, economy class, for two (2) from Nashville, TN on May 20, 2008 to Los Angeles, CA, (ii) two (2) nights hotel accommodations (one room, double occupancy) and (iii) two (2) tickets to the American Idol finale on May 21, 2008. The trip package does not include any meals, other transportation, gratuities, trip cancellation insurance, or any other expenses. The trip must be taken on May 20, 2008- May 22, 2008, is subject to availability, and blackout dates may apply. The trip package is valued at two thousand five-hundred dollars ($2,500.00). The value of the tickets to see the American Idol show cannot be determined. In the event production of American Idol is cancelled or postponed, the ticket portion of the prizing may be cancelled without substitution or compensation therefore. The winner’s guest to the American Idol show must be at least 18 years old.
2. Winner will be notified phone. Winner must sign and return a release and affidavit of eligibility, which must be received within one (1) day of notification. All persons traveling on the trip must be 18 years of age or over, unless travelers under 18 are accompanied by at least one adult who is the parent or legal guardian of all of the minors. All persons traveling on the trip must also sign and return a release which must be returned with the winner’s release and affidavit of eligibility within the time frame specified above. Winner must show picture identification to claim prizes. Station reserves the right to examine additional identification and may choose to accept or deny awarding the prize based on the identification presented.
3. If winner does not timely return the affidavit of eligibility, the prize will be awarded to an alternate winner.
4. There will be no substitutions or cash alternatives for prizes except at the sole discretion of Station. The Station has the right to substitute a prize of similar value. No transfer or assignment of prizes is allowed.
5. The winners are responsible for paying all local, county, state and federal taxes on prizes based on the estimated retail value of the prizes as set forth in these rules.
6. Contestants are eligible to win only one prize within any one hundred and eighty day (180) period, regardless of the number of contests entered.
7. Sinclair Television of Tennessee, Inc. and Sinclair Television of Nashville, Inc., Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. and Sinclair Television Group, Inc. are not liable if the provider of any part of the prize fails to satisfy its obligations to furnish its portion of the prize. The Station, sponsors, and prize provider shall not be responsible for winner’s failure to take the trip within the time frame described above, or cancellation of the trip by the winner.
8. Sinclair Television of Tennessee, Inc. and Sinclair Television of Nashville, Inc., Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. and Sinclair Television Group, Inc. are not responsible for any liabilities arising directly or indirectly from the award or use of the prize.
9. In claiming your prize, you acknowledge that Sinclair Television of Tennessee, Inc. and Sinclair Television of Nashville, Inc., Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. and Sinclair Television Group, Inc. have the right to publicize your name, character, likeness, photograph, voice and the fact that you are the winner for promotional purposes without financial remuneration.
Odds of Winning/Miscellaneous
1. Odds of winning depend on the number of correct entries received and the order in which telephone calls are received.
2. Complete contest rules are available Monday through Friday during normal business hours at FOX 17, My TV 30 & CW 58 Studios, 631 Mainstream Drive, Nashville, TN 37228 and on the Station’s website at www.fox17.com.
3. For a list of prize winners, send a separate, self-addressed, stamped envelope to FOX 17, My TV 30 & CW 58 Studios, 631 Mainstream Drive, Nashville, TN 37228 by May 23, 2008.
4. This contest is subject to all applicable laws and regulations and is void where prohibited. Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, Inc. Sinclair Television of Tennessee, Inc. and Sinclair Television of Nashville, Inc., Fox Broadcasting Company, News America, Inc., Fox Interactive Media, FremantleMedia North America, Inc., American Idol Productions, Inc., 19 TV Limited, 19 Merchandising Ltd., CKX, Inc., their parent, subsidiary, affiliated and related entities, and the officers, directors, employees, licensees and assignees of each, accepts no responsibility or liability in connection with any injuries, losses or damages of any kind caused by or resulting from the acceptance, possession or use of any prize awarded hereunder.
5. Station cannot be held liable for any lost or stolen entries, prizes or contest information.
6. Station reserves the right to make rules and contest changes and change the aforementioned contest dates.
