FOX17 is Your HOUSE OF IDOL. AMERICAN IDOL Judge Jennifer Lopez is back on the radio. J-Lo is climbing the charts again with a new hit single. FOX's Anita Vogel chats with the entertainer about the success of her new song and her role on AMERICAN IDOL. With a little help from IDOL and a slick music video, Jennifer Lopez's latest hit single "On the Floor" is dancing its way to the top of the charts, topping Itunes Music and video downloads, as well as been seen by over 18 million YouTube viewers.
"I don't get nervous when it goes to #1, no I like that part," says Lopez. "It's just something that I felt was very true to who I am, but, you know, very me, and people were going to see it as 'oh this is Jennifer', but as me today, and you know, I was just hoping that people would love it and I'm so excited I can tell you."
Fitting into the judging duties like an old pro, Lopez has endured the tough times, especially last Thursday's decision not to use the Judges Only Wild Card to keep Ashton Jones.
"To take this with her you know it's all about what you choose for yourself," says Lopez. "You hear people talk about that song choice and you're like 'what does that mean?' It's one of the most important aspects of becoming, you know, successful as a recording artist. The songs that you choose and if they're hits or not."
Her 7th album LOVE? hits stores in mid-April and for Jennifer, staying true to herself is all she can do.
"My album is me, you know, I'm going to give a little dance and I'm going to give you a little of like sugary flavor, I'm going to give you a bit of pop and it never gets old for me when I hear my song on the radio for the first time, never gets old!"
Don't forget the Top 12 return to the IDOL stage for live singing Tuesday night at 7pm on FOX17.
