"That is stuff  I dream about, standing on stage in finale and wondering whether Ryan is gonna call your name. That is such a crazy thought, but the cool thing now is that there is a 1 and 10 chance that is gonna happen" says Colton Dixon.

The 20 year old is doing pretty well for a guy who didn't even plan on auditioning for American Idol this season. He's in the top ten and according to our expert Idol panelists, possibly the guy to beat this year.
    For Colton, it's all still sinking in!

"I don't think we will fully understand what that means until we are out on the stage for the first time on tour" says Colton when talking about being in the Top 10.

So far the judges haven't had anything bad to say about Colton, but he hasn't gotten the one thing he wants from them, but thinks this could be his week.

"I've been craving a standing ovation from those judges. I think out of all performances I've given this is the week I could get one" says Colton.

One thing you do see week after week is Colton's calm presence. He tells me the key is prayer before and after every show!

"I pray that God gives me a peace and calm and he totally does. It's amazing going on stage and not worrying about lyrics or what you are wearing. Your mind and voice are totally connected to the song" says Colton.
