Alternative rock legends the Flaming Lips are attempting to make history and country newcomer Hunter Hayes is part of the excitement. The Flaming Lips are trying to set a Guinness World Record for the most concerts performed in multiple cities in a 24 hour window. They are trying to play 8 shows in 8 cities and MTV will stream the entire thing as part of this year's MTV O Music Awards. The quest kicked off tonight in Memphis and ends 24 hours later at the House of Blues in New Orleans. During the attempt, they will be joined by several celebrities and musicians. Hunter Hayes will open for the band when it makes a stop tomorrow in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He played 7 concerts from LA to Atlanta in 2006.

Demarcus is launching his own weekly radio program on Big Machine Radio's iHeart Radio station. It will be called The Jay Demarcus Show: LIVE from the Flatts Shack and will premiere tomorrow at 4pm. Jay will have several featured songwriters and his wife Allison will deliver entertainment reports.
Country superstar Tim McGraw, who played for 50,000 fans on Saturday in Nashville, has announced his next single. It will be his first single since signing with Big Machine earlier this year. "Truck Yeah" will be released July 3. McGraw has been playing it on the Brothers of the Sun Tour and getting a great response.
Reports are out all over the internet that former AMERICAN IDOL finalist Kellie Pickler split from her label Sony. So far, the country star hasn't placed any comment on any of her social media sites, but ABC Radio is reporting her manager has confirmed the split. We have not been able to reach her manager for comment, however we did speak with reps at Sony Music who say that they cannot confirm that information. The news comes on the eve of Pickler's 27th birthday. We will continue to work on getting this information confirmed.
