Tiger pride is strong these days.  The TSU community feeling good about having a former player in Super Bowl XLVIII.  Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie will suit up for the Denver Broncos on Sunday.

A billboard near downtown Nashville congratulating DRC who's abouty to play on pro football's biggest stage, and his TSU family can't wait.

"It does make you proud," Rod Reed says, "Knowing that your players on going on and doing well and successful with these NFL franchises."

Rod Reed's office is filled with memorabilia from the twenty former TSU players who have Super Bowl experience.  And on Wednesday, one of them was there in person.  Anthony Levine is blessed with two Super Bowl rings already, and he's only played in the NFL four seasons.

Levine says his friends joke that he's the "lucky charm" when it comes to making it to the big game.

But now it's all about getting Rodgers-Cromartie a ring.  His former coach is always willing to assist with some tips.

"I find time to kind of text him on gameday and kind of give him some pointers because I know those bad habits are," Reed says.  "And 'Hey don't trust your eyes all the time' you know he gets a little greedy at times."

And what about Dominique's comments earlier in the week that he was considering retirement after this season?

"I immediately talked with him and I think he was just tired of Richard Sherman getting all the pub," Reed joked.

Sherman's postgame rant after the NFC Championship certainly made headlines.  Dominique hopes to do the same for a more positive reason on Sunday.
