Titans All Access - WZTV FOX 17 - Fantasy Football Draft 2014: Green Bay Packers
Fantasy Football Draft 2014: Green Bay Packers
Aaron Rodgers, QB: Rodgers had a miserable season in 2013, breaking his collarbone and seeing just 9 games of action as a result. This year, he gets a healthy Randall Cobb back from his own injury and Jordy Nelson. Eddie Lacy is finally the answer the Pack have needed at running back, but the bigger question is if Andrew Quarless can fill the void left by Jermichael Finley? Regardless, all Rodgers really needs to work with is Cobb and Nelson. Lets imagine 2013 never happened and plan a return to 20122 and 2012. Rodgers should be good for another 4,000 plus yards and 30-plus touchdowns. He'll be gone by the end of the second round, so pull the trigger quickly.

Randall Cobb, WR: Fantasy football drafting is all based on projections. Randall Cobb is a projection monster, even though he doesn't have the track record to prove his current status. Cobb is currently being drafted 29th overall, 10th at the position. While playing with Aaron Rodgers is great for any receiver, Cobb is over-valued. All reports from Green Bay beat writers suggest he has looked extremely average since his return from injury. Yes, Cobb should be a top wideout and he was on-track to have a career year in 2013, but he could be dealing with some mental blocks from his injury, so watch his progress during the remainder of the preseason closely.

Jordy Nelson, WR: Nelson on the other hand, is right on value with his 21st overall ADP. Nelson finished 11th at the position last season, but with Eric Decker not likely to reproduce his 9th overall finish and Josh Gordon likely gone for the year, Nelson should move up to the nine-spot. However, there is some reason for concern given Nelson has been nursing a hamstring injury since early in the preseason. He missed four games in 2012 due to a hamstring injury and aside from a high ankle sprain, a hammy is the last thing you want to hear about a wide receiver dealing with. He's also never had consecutive 1,000 yard-plus seasons, so there is some small risk that he won't live up to his draft value when selecting him.

Eddie Lacy, RB: The Alabama product was worth every penny in his first season toting the ball for the Pack. His 1,435 total yards and 11 scores landed him 5th overall among running backs in 2013 and there are high-hopes for him entering this season. He's the first Packer to rush for more than 1,000 yards since Ryan Grant did it in 2011. Lacy did it with Rodgers under center for just nine games. Now that he's back, there's not reason to think Lacy won't reproduce his success.

Jarrett Boykin, WR: If you're looking for a deep sleeper, Boykin is your man. With Nelson nursing a hammy and Cobb returning from injury, Boykin could play a larger role than expected in this offense, especially if one of the two starters goes down. Boykin didn't come on to the scene until Week 7 against the Browns and he hauled in 8 catches for 103 yards and a score in Randall Cobb's absence. The next game, he posted 89 yards, then Aaron Rodgers went down and he posted over 100 yards just once the rest of the season. If you take Cobb or Nelson and see Boykin sitting there in the 11th or 12th round, he might serve as good insurance.
