Titans All Access - WZTV FOX 17 - Fantasy Football Draft 2014: Miami Dolphins
Fantasy Football Draft 2014: Miami Dolphins
Ryan Tannehill, QB: Tannehill has been a paradox since arriving to the NFL. While he did show vast improvement under coach Joe Philbin, he also showed regression. Tannehill improved from a 12 touchdown season in 2012 and doubled-down with 24 scores in 2013. He attempted over 100 more passes and his competion percentage jumped. However, he only added 619 yards from the year before and his pass per completion average dropped. He has Mike Wallace, but selecting Tannehill even as a backup in standard leagues could be risky. On the bright side, Tannehill does have the second-easiest schedule among quarterbacks, so a breakout year could be in the cards, though not enough to warrant anything but a flier.

Knowshon Moreno, RB: The Georgia product is coming off a knee scope and has been a late arrival to camp as a result. He had a career year in Denver after rushing for over 1,000 yards and 10 scores for the first time. However, Peyton Manning tends to make running backs better when the defense is stuck on their heels. In Miami, Tannehill won't get the same respect and defenses will be pinning their ears back. Moreno won't find the same success and his current ADP of 115th is right on target.

Mike Wallace, WR: The fantasy gods have Wallace pegged correctly going in the 8th round of most drafts. He was a big disappointment during his first season in Miami and declined in nearly every category despite receiving career-highs in receptions and targets. He will be great off the bench and based on the matchup, but Wallace is a #3 WR at best.

Charles Clay, TE: The Tulsa product was a big surprise in 2013, finishing 7th among all tight ends in fantasy last year. He racked up six scores, 759 yards and 69 receptions last year. However, he is dealing with a nagging knee injury and the return to health for guys like Gronkowski, Miller and Pitta could mean Clay winds up a borderline top ten tight end. If you decide to wait on a tight end he will make a solid pickup you won't have to worry about, but won't necessarily make big contributions.
