NASHVILLE, Tenn.--Tennessee Titans coach Mike Munchak took to the podium today and addressed the injury suffered by quarterback Jake Lockerduring Sunday's game against the New York Jets.
Munchak opened the presser by stating "we have not released anything on Jake" when speaking about initial reports surrounding the injury and time which could be missed. "Nobody wants to speculate on how long he will be out because it is hard to define given the swelling in his hip." Muchak added "people guessing on what the possibilities are."
Locker had tests done yesterday and had treatment today at the Titans' facility after he was released from the hospital.
Munchak admitted he was "concerned" for Locker's hip and added his knee on same side is sore.
Another MRI is set for tomorrow and then the team will have a better gauge. Munchak said that while it's hard to define how much time Locker could miss, "it's encouraging because nothing can directly be defined." However, he wasn't "ruling anything out."
"He's going to be back and play this year, we just don't know when." Munchak did rule Locker out for this week's game and will decide what direction to take personnel wise once tomorrow's MRI is completed and doctors have a clear understanding about the injury. Ryan Fitzpatrick will take the helm against the Kansas City Chiefs this week.
