 Atlanta, GA--

Two teacher's assistants caught on video slapping, choking and hitting non-verbal special needs students in an Atlanta public school.

Alger Coleman and Keisha Smith are the two adults seen throughout the video. In one part of the tape, the suspect apparently hits a student, who falls off a chair. The video also shows one of the suspects appearing to grab a student on the floor, hit him in the head, then leading him across the room and pushing him down.

A woman, who doesn't want to be identified, says she set up the hidden camera because she sensed something was right, but she says she never expected this.

The Atlanta public school district says it removed both assistants from the classroom after seeing the video.

Coleman has since been arrested and charged with battery and child cruelty.

Smith faces a disciplinary hearing for her role in violent acts.
