Lost Dog found 18 Months after Superstorm Sandy

Stream WZTV Fox 17 Newscasts LIVE starting with Fox 17 This Morning at 5am and News at 9pm.

New Jersey--

A New Jersey family is all smiles after finding their long-lost dog, 18 months after Superstorm Sandy hit the northeast.

The James Family says their dog, "Reckless," went missing from their home after the storm hit. They later found his collar on a fence, but he was nowhere to be found.

So, for their 10-year-old daughter's birthday, the family went to get another dog and to their surprise, Reckless was actually sitting in a shelter waiting for someone to adopt him.

The family took Reckless home on Friday. He has been microchipped so he can be found if he ever wanders off again.
