Stockdale, California--

A man arrested on felony weapons charges in California is taking social media by storm, not for his crimes, but for his good looks.

Female Facebookers are apparently swooning over the picture of 30-year-old Jeremy Meeks.

His mug shot has gotten more than 13,000 "likes" and garnered more than 3,000 comments in less than 24 hours.

Meeks is a repeat offender in California.

He's currently charged with sex felony counts of street terrorism and weapons charges in Stockton, but some women on social media don't care. They are posting comments like "being that sexy is obviously illegal."

Meeks says he had no idea his mug shot was so popular, he says his wife had to tell him.

Some Facebookers suggested donating money to bail him out. It is set at $900,000.

Stockton police want to remind everybody that Meeks is a convicted felon. He previously spent nine years in prison for grand theft.

He's due back in court today.
