Freeze Warning, Cumberland Plateau Advisory

Winter-like conditions will be possible for middle Tennessee this weekend. A freeze warning is in effect for Friday and Saturday night. Temperatures will drop to around the freezing mark in Nashville and upper 20s outside the metro area. Saturday night will be even colder with temperatures dropping as low as the mid-20s outside the metro. Breezy NW winds will add to the chill. In addition to the cold, rain showers along the Cumberland Plateau will change over to light snow overnight.

Middle Tennessee is under a Freeze Warning this morning by the National Weather Service and the Cumberland Plateau area is under a Hard Freeze until 9 a.m.


Frost can be seen coating the surfaces in the mid-state overnight. FOX 17 Photographer Nathan Furniss shot video at a car lot in MetroCenter.
Temperatures fell below freezing to 30 degrees in Nashville just before 6 a.m. Cookeville saw a low of 23 degrees and Clarksville clocked in with a low of 27 degrees (temperatures are subject to change a degree or two at final observation).


FOX 17 Meteorolgist Craig Edwards says, "Its going to be equally as cold Saturday morning when we will be in the 20s." Tune into Craig and "FOX 17 This Morning" until 9 a.m.
