Rare Creature Causing Construction Hold-Up in Williamson Co.

A small creature is causing construction concerns in Williamson county. TDOT crews are working around an unusual hold-up on a project to widen a portion of Concord Road. The Mill Creek and Owl Creek waters are home to the endangered Nashville Crayfish. Its the only place in the entire world you can find them. The crustacean is protected under law, which means during mating season, between October and May, construction crews can't work in or around the crayfish habitats.

In the meantime, TDOT crews will be working around the creeks as they add a third lane to Concord Road. The expansion project is expected to be completed by summer of 2016.
