NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Several cars are being reported damaged this hour on the interstate in Nashville.

Metro Police are attending to cars that received damage after hitting debris at the Silliman Evans Bridge near Shelby Avenue at around 6 a.m.

The Tennessee Department of Transportation says one lane is closed due to metal joints that have popped up. They also confirm that cars were also damaged on Saturday night after hitting a pothole on I-24 on the Mill Creek Bridge. The two incidents are unrelated.

TDOT says people who received damage are welcome to file a claim for possible reimbursement with the Tennessee claims commission.
