EXCLUSIVE: Vandenburg's Attorney Talks About Rape Allegation

Stream Fox 17 newscasts LIVE starting with Fox 17 This Morning at 5 am and News at 9 pm.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The attorney representing Brandon Vandenburg in the Vanderbilt rape case is talking only to FOX 17 News.

David King says his 20 year old client is innocent.

He says media portrayals thus far have been inaccurate.

King plans to have Brandon's case severed from co-defendant Cory Batey, one of four athletes charged with raping an unconscious co-ed.

Without discussing details of the evidence, king says,  "it will show that Brandon Vandenburg did not engage in unauthorized or unwilling sexual contact at all."

King plans to file a severance motion in the coming months so that Brandon can stand trial without a co-defendant.

The case is set for trial in August.
