BURNSVILLE, N.C. -- Two Nashville attorneys are injured in a North Carolina plane crash.

FOX 17 sister station, WLOS, in Asheville, reports the plane went down around 10 a.m. Wednesday in Yancey County in western North Carolina. The plane skid off the runway at a private airstrip.

The Tennessean reports that two Nashville lawyers were on the plane. They say Lee Barfield, a partner at Bass, Sims; and Bob Walker, a partner at Walker, Tipps & Malone, were transported to an Asheville hospital following the accident.

Barfield broke his femur, according to The Tennessean. Walker underwent surgery for a neck injury. It is unclear who was flying the plane.
