Freeze Warning, Cumberland Plateau Advisory

Winter-like conditions will be possible for middle Tennessee this weekend. A freeze warning is in effect for Friday and Saturday night. Temperatures will drop to around the freezing mark in Nashville and upper 20s outside the metro area. Saturday night will be even colder with temperatures dropping as low as the mid-20s outside the metro. Breezy NW winds will add to the chill. In addition to the cold, rain showers along the Cumberland Plateau will change over to light snow overnight.

Dog Wakes Family During House Fire

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- A furnace started a morning house fire in north Nashville and mans best friend is being hailed a hero this morning.

Fire crews responded to the fire on the 1700 block of Nassau Street shortly at around 4 a.m. The homeowners made it out safe.

Smoke was coming from the house when the fire department arrived on scene. They quickly put the fire out.

Some damage is reported to the house.

FOX 17 Reporter Roger Susanin is at the scene with the family who gives credit to their dog Lucky for waking them up. That story is on "FOX 17 This Morning" until 9 a.m.
