NASHVILLE, Tenn.-- A 9-year-old boy died Thursday night from a fallen power line in south Nashville.

A large tree limb fell on wires around 9:30 p.m. on the 500 block of Charles E. Davis Boulevard killing Christopher Ellison, say Metro Police.

A witness says he  saw the tree fall on the power line from the strong winds. The witness says he then went over and touched the wire, but said the wire was not hot at the time.

According to the witness, moments later the boy rode up on his bike to the power line and grabbed it. The witness says the boy was shocked and severely burned on his face. The witness says the boy was in first or second grade.

Metro Police say the boy was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he died shortly thereafter.
