UPDATE: Woman Killed in Wrong Way Crash on I-40 in W. Nashville

UPDATE: The woman involved in a deadly accident on I-40 this morning has been identified as 35-year-old Christie Lynn Martin. Metro Police say she was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident. Martin had just moved to Nashville. 

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Metro Police are on scene of a deadly accident in west Nashville involving two cars.

A woman from Pennsylvania is dead after a 2:30 a.m. accident on I-40 West between Charlotte Pike and Briley Parkway, in which police say she was going the wrong way. A 50-year-old man went to Vanderbilt Hospital for his injuries.

Police say there is no indication of alcohol. They also say speed was not a factor.

Police tell FOX 17 News that they believe she likely got on the interstate at Charlotte Pike. They called this a "confusing intersection."

The westbound traffic is shut down. The incident is expected to be cleared at around 7 a.m.Traffic is being diverted off I-40 W. at White Bridge Pike.
